Start of construction works at Projet Longueuil

Since November 2021, Devimco Immobilier has undertaken the construction of the first phase of a 30-storey residential and commercial complex that will consist of 389 housing units, located above the Longueuil – Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station, at 100 Place Charles-Le Moyne. An underground parking lot will also be built under Place Charles-Le Moyne.

News from the construction site

Construction works in the new downtown Longueuil have started! Special signage will also be put in place to guide passers-by and cyclists on their way to the metro station. A brand new public park will stretch over a surface of 4,000 square metres in the centre of the P2 parking lot, hence creating a green oasis at the heart of the project.

Street furniture and bicycle racks have been removed and relocated, and part of the pavement has been dismantled. Access to the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station will be maintained for the duration of the works as a temporary shelter has been set up by Devimco Immobilier. Users will thus be safely protected throughout the works.

Devimco will also undertake the construction of the first residential tower of the Sir Charles project, in parking lot P2. Drainage works around the site will result in the temporary loss of approximately 100 parking spaces.

Longueuil’s new downtown core will be completely transformed over the next few years to make way for a visionary transit-oriented development (TOD), focused on density, mobility, green spaces, and a diverse mix of land uses.
