–Groupe Devimco’s involvement with the Jewish General Hospital Foundation
The COVID-19 global pandemic has dramatically changed current priorities and has raised awareness that infectious diseases can cause tremendous harm to both individuals and to our society. We are now faced with an urgent need to invest massively in research.
Groupe Devimco has chosen to officially support the Jewish General Hospital Foundation by working to find donors who will make it possible to create a new research centre specifically dedicated to infectious diseases. The hospital hopes to raise $7.5 million to make this happen. All funds raised will be administered by the Jewish General Hospital Foundation team and will be dedicated exclusively to the new Centre of Excellence for Infectious Diseases. As of June 30, 2021, Groupe Devimco and its partners have already raised more than $385,000, which has been donated to the Foundation.
–Groupe Devimco supports Fondation Tel-jeunes
Despite the global pandemic, Groupe Devimco succeeded in raising $218,000 for Fondation Tel-jeunes through a golf tournament fundraiser event held on September 10. These funds will be used to support thousands of young people and parents who reach out to Tel-jeunes and LigneParents each year. These two front-line services offer professional help and support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout Quebec.
For this 2nd edition, Groupe Devimco is proud to have exceeded the sum of $169,000 raised in 2019, but also the goal of $200,000 set when COVID-19 was not yet part of our lives.
