Let us answer three questions to tell you everything you need to know about it!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How will the REM improve on the current transit system on the South Shore?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It will take only 13 minutes to reach downtown Montr\u00e9al from the Du Quartier REM station, located steps away from your Magellan condo or Lumeo apartment. Trains will run 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, every 2.5 minutes during peak hours and 5 minutes outside of peak hours. With twice the capacity of the current bus system and none of the traffic, the new line will offer quick, reliable and frequent service to and from downtown. It will also be connected to three existing metro lines and Montr\u00e9al\u2013Trudeau Airport.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is the difference between the REM and a suburban train line?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The REM will offer much more frequent service and three times the capacity of current suburban train lines. It will also have new transfer points, cars that are more similar to the metro and accessible stations. No more standing in the cold or rain! Riders will wait for the REM on platforms equipped with automatic sliding doors designed to keep people and objects off the tracks and ensure a safer, more reliable service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>When will construction on the South Shore section of the REM start?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The westbound Autoroute 10 has been reconfigured to allow construction of the future Du Quartier station to begin in the fall of 2018.
